Moving Day:

Long story short, the boat never really made it to my house in the winter due to ice in the lane so it was at the neighbors house until now.

Last weekend we brought it down!

The logs we cut for the long levers were a bit of overkill, 16" dia. hickory, they probably weighed as much as half the boat! The "sill" log is about 14" dia. oak.

We laid her over onto a large pallet and drug it down to my house.

Here you can see the plywood blocks and foam on top of the sill log to distribute the load on the fibreglass. Also note the bevel cut on the bottom of the long logs. I thought it would help "kick" the keel up off the ground. Who knows if it helped…

The bottom's never had paint. It looks as though it was run aground at one time, there's a gouge and a scrape that I'll have to work on some time.

Spinneroonie!

Upsie daisey.

Home, home at last!

Next week we'll untarp her, air it out and I'll start working on a lift so I can get into it.
