30JUN2007:

Thought I'd give an update so Kenny doesn't wear out the other pages; Here it is!

It was a very slow month all around due to the heat wave so not much got done since last time. The lift works ok, a little shaky when I'm at the top, so I tie my cart to the boat with a piece of string.

We got the "duck boards" out. I'm not sure what you call them, but the mahogany boards in the cockpit. Also removed aluminum track for traveller and a wood block where the mainsheet went through to a cam cleat. It was mostly a 2-person job as there were nuts on the backside of most of the hardware. I don't think any of that crap is original and probably won't be going back in. I don't have the resources or patience to make it original, just trying to simplify matters.

I found that when crawling around on the boat these old neoprene farmer johns work well to prevent the shins, knees and hips from getting banged up. They're very hot though and I'd like to get a bigger pair that would be easier getting into and out of.

We also built an A-frame and ridge pole affair over the boat and put up a blue tarp, and you can't tell in the pics but we also washed it down with some rv wash (it has wax in it) and the finish isn't so chalky anymore. So, all in all, a slow month, but even small progress is still moving forward!
