05JUL2009:

Sorry no updates for quite a while, there has been some progress but not nearly enough!  We got half the plywood in for the deck core, and most of the front half of the boat prepped for more ply.

I'm moving some of the windows/ports because I want to install a rib across the main cabin and it fell right on one window.  Also changing the windows to a different size, so I'd have had to glass in some of the hull anyway.  Below you can see the "jimmys" we hung outside the boat, just lathe really and shims to push a piece of panneling (shellac'd and heavily waxed) flush against the boat.

Below, you can see the plug I have in the hole, it's sized for the new windows.  Also got glass in the hole where old window was.  You can also see the rib, although I think I'm going to make another one slightly larger.  You can also see the new ply that's epoxied in and a support that'll keep the deck curved until the bulkheads/rib are installed.

Got these nice windows at Bacons in Annapolis last year; $15 each!!!  You cant beat that with a stick.  They will protrude quite a bit and probably end up smashed against a pylon somewhere, so I cut them down so they'll only stick out an inch.

After cutting, sand the rough edges off.

I made some "visors" out of vinal siding, very flexible and will give if the boat crunches into something.

Not much but I hope as the summer goes on we'll have more to show later.
